OUTCOME
English Language Skills
Most learners demonstrated noticeable improvement in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. They can now participate in short conversations about familiar topics such as hobbies, family, and daily routines. Many are able to ask and answer questions about everyday activities and describe their favourite places in London with increased confidence.
Essential Digital Skills
Learners developed basic digital skills through guided practice using smartphones and computers. By the end of the course, most could set up and use email accounts, complete simple online forms, and access key services such as NHS websites. Learners also practised safe online shopping and bill payments, increasing their confidence in managing digital tasks independently.
Employability Skills
Participants gained an understanding of simplified job adverts and basic interview preparation. Through role-play activities, they practised talking about their skills and previous work experience, which increased their readiness to apply for entry-level jobs and volunteering roles.
Promoting British Values
The course promoted open discussions on democracy, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance. Learners developed greater awareness of their rights and responsibilities as UK residents and showed deeper respect for cultural diversity within British society.
Confidence Building and Engagement
Despite barriers related to language, housing, and social integration, learners showed strong motivation to improve and participate actively in their communities. Many expressed pride in being able to communicate more independently and complete everyday tasks in English. Their confidence grew significantly, particularly in group discussions and digital practice sessions
